Entrepreneurialism is the fundamental ingredient of truly successful individuals, organisations and communities at every level. It is the difference between mediocrity and excellence. It is the spirit that makes careers blossom and businesses fly, enabling them to survive the hard times and evolve with the market-place to stay one step ahead of the competition.

Any individual, in any walk of life and at any level within an organisation can experience a dramatic increase in their personal performance, effectiveness and satisfaction by being an entrepreneur in their own chosen field.

WHAT IS AN ENTREPRENEUR?
Some say that the difference that makes an entrepreneur is a sprinkling of magic dust.

When we hear the word ‘entrepreneur’, we think of Richard Branson, Alan Sugar, Bill Gates and many other well-known figures. The idea of the entrepreneur has been popularised in recent years by the TV programs ‘Dragon’s Den’ and ‘The Apprentice’. Top business individuals are the new celebrities; rubbing shoulders on the red carpet with film stars and musicians.

The Oxford English Dictionary definition of the word ‘entrepreneur’ is ‘a person who organises, operates, and assumes the risk for a business venture.’ This description could be considered subdued in comparison to the images, words and feelings that we each individually associate with the word. In essence, we all know that ‘entrepreneur’ is so much more than its dictionary description.

How do we define an entrepreneur? Innovation, persistance, inspiration, ability to see an opportunity and seize it, making things happen, overcoming obstacles and self belief are all attributes commonly linked to entrepreneurs.
A recent study published in December 2007 showed that up to 35% of entrepreneurs class themselves as dyslexic. (Tracing Business Acumen to Dyslexia - New York Times.) From an early age a dyslexic child develops unique strategies to compensate for other perceived weaknesses, it is thought that some of these strategies drive the behavioural patterns, values and beliefs that create the entrepreneur in later life. On the flip-side, the study also shows that at least 65% of entrepreneurs are not classed as dyslexic.
In its purest form, the dictionary definition of entrepreneur is true in its association with successful and innovative business ventures. On a grander scale, any individual, in any walk of life, in any circumstance and at any level within an organisation can achieve a dramatic increase in their own performance and personal satisfaction by being an entrepreneur in their own field of choice and at their own level.
THE ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
An entrepreneur can shine from any context, any background, any speciality, any age, any gender and any race. The gift of entrepreneurialism does not discriminate – anybody can be an entrepreneur. If only it were that easy.
Many believe that a person doesn’t “become” an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are born that way – an entrepreneur just “is”.
This is true for natural-born entrepreneurs. They have an inherent way of viewing the world; behavioural patterns, values and beliefs that cumulatively foster the successes that apparently elude others.
Ask any entrepreneur what makes them successful and they will answer at length, eloquently and knowledgeably on the secrets of how they have made it to where they are now. They are an international treasure-trove on the practicalities of business concept and action.
Every entrepreneur’s story is uniquely interesting and inspirational. But for any would-be entrepreneur there is still a huge chasm to be bridged between following practical examples of entrepreneurialism and actually becoming one.
WHAT REALLY MAKES THEM TICK?
What really makes any of us tick is hidden in the depths of our inner fabric, so deep that we are often unable to verbalise it at a conscious level. Instead, we verbalise what we know and what we are aware of; the resulting behaviours and actions that filter up through to our conscious awareness.
Any naturally talented person can talk in detail about their talent and how they do what they do – but they are completely unaware of the most important component; that is the hidden innate source of their talent that enables them to do what they do so well.
HOW TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR?
If we get up at the same time in the morning as our chosen entrepreneur, if we put on the same clothes, eat the same breakfast and drive the same car – does that make us an entrepreneur? It does not.
In studying any entrepreneur’s description of their talents, the difficulty for the would-be entrepreneur is two-fold:
(1) How to discern the real pivotal points i.e. the requisite components for becoming an entrepreneur from the individual idiosyncracies that may be unique and querky but could be red-herrings.
(2) And how to adopt those pivotal points: How to become an entrepreneur by applying them to oneself.
ENTREPRENEURIALISM IS A SPIRIT. It goes deeper than our actions and into our values and beliefs – entrepreneurialism is held deep in the unconscious processes that drive those actions, values and beliefs.
MODELLING ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
MESmerise 35 can harness the unconscious processes of entrepreneurs.
By a process called NLP Modelling (from Neuro Linguistic Programming), we isolate the raw mechanism of entrepreneurialism before it is diluted, distorted and personalised by conscious interference.
The result is a clean blueprint for entrepreneurialism. Entrepreneurial spirit that can be taught to anybody.
LEARNING TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR
We turn the entrepreneurial blueprint into a trainable skill, available through workshops, seminars, training and coaching.
Our emphasis is on deductive learning – allowing delegates to first learn through unconscious uptake – designed to provide them with a clean experience that will fit uniquely with each individual – before receiving the conscious learning in a more traditional way.
Our seminars will enable your delegates to become entrepreneurs through their learning experiences so that they can apply it directly to their work and other areas of their lives.
This is far more effective than providing instructions or keynote speeches alone and leaving it to the delegate to work out how to take the next step.
